What are Roman Artifacts Used for in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?

Roman Artifacts are collectibles Eivor can encounter upon reaching England. These Artifacts are usually found in secluded areas and/or require some sort of light puzzle-solving to find. When nearby the Roman Artifacts make a distinctive ethereal humming noise.
Octavian's Gifts
After upgrading the settlement of Ravensthrope, Octavian will set shop across from the longhouse. Once you've built Octavian's museum, you'll be able to bring him Roman Artifacts for him to then turn into decorations you can use for the settlement. Octavian requires certain amounts of Roman Artifacts to be brought in together for him to accept them. He gives you settlement decorations for the first three trades. On the final trade, he gives you the Gorgon Shield. See the table below for more details.

- Location: Inside a sealed building at an abandoned estate 375m SW of Ravensburg
The Artifact is inside the building with the breakable door in the sealed courtyard. Once at the estate, face the fountain. Turn right to find and carry the oil jar on the ground next to the damaged cart. Turn around and walk onto the haystacks next to the buildings on the left. Use the stacks as stairs to get onto the left building roof. Use the roof to jump over the sealed courtyard's walls. Place the oil jar in front of the breakable wall; then, shoot it with an arrow. Once the flames die out, enter the building to collect the artifact.

- Location:75m SW of Wycham - In a snake pit at the center of some ruins.
Kill the three snakes in the pit before getting the artifact.
Grantebridgescire Roman Artifact 3

- Location: 200m N of Black Peak - Inside an abandoned Roman temple.
Enter the temple through the windows on the northern side. The artifact is being held by the large statue.

- Location: South Eastern Outskirts of Ledescestre - Underground
Find the hidden entrance on the ground among the Roman Ruins. Break the wooden plank floor and go underground. Follow the tunnel to find a statue holding the artifact. Climb onto the statue to collect it.

- Location: Ruins 400m S of Tonnastidir

Climb to the top of the ruins with a wooden platform. Destroy the jars to collect the artifact
Ledecestrescire Roman Artifact 3
- Location: Venonis - Atop very tall ruins in the east next to the river.
You need to use the ladder on the northwestern side of the ruins to get to the top. After climbing up the first ladder, shoot the clamp of the ladder overhead to reach the top. You'll need to deal with the two enemies up there that are admiring the artifact. You can shoot an arrow into the oil jar near them to do some major damage.

- Location: 550m SW of Repton - Ruins
Climb to the second floor of the ruins and move the shelf to reveal the artifact.

- Location: Roman Ruins - 200m NE of Ledecestre
Climb to the top of the central pillar to find an oild jar. Locate the destructable hole in the ground and toss the jar to destroy it. When the fire clears, collect the Roman Artifact beneath the rubble.

- Location: Mercury Temple - Underwater
Find the circular pool in the ruins. Swim to the center of the pool and dive down to swim through a submerged tunnel. It's pretty dark in there so use Odin's Sense to help you see better.
Follow the tunnel as it snakes around. You'll need to smash the wooden wall that's blocking the artifact. Exit quickly the way you came in, or continue following the tunnels to reach another exit.

- Location: Roman Ruins about 100m South of Burkelow Bog
Hanging on the wall inside a room on the second floor. You need to climb onto the wall it's hanging on to collect it.

- Location: About 125m ESE of Theotford Forest - Beneath the ruins.
When you reach the area, you'll first need to take out all the enemies surrounding the ruins. Once they're dealt with, grab an oil jar from the small campsite directly next to the ruins. Use the oil jar to destroy the floor in the center of the ruins. Go down until and you'll reach a deadend with a breakable wall on the left. On the left wall of the tunnel you can use the hole near the floor to enter a tiny room. Look through the bars in the room to find the large oil jar in the room containing the artifact. Shoot it with your arrow or through a couple of torches to cause it to explode and break the wall. If you're having trouble you could instead, go back to the campsite, pick up another oil jar (they respawn), and carry it down the tunnel to destroy the wall. Once you're in the sealed room, climb onto the statue to collect the artifact.

There are five Roman Artifacts in Oxenefordscire.

- Location: Bottom of the Evinghou Tower on the western side, outside.
There's a moveable wall blocking a doorway to where the Roman Artifact is. You'll need to go through a cave entrance on the right and shoot the pots blocking the moveable wall. Then, return to the wall and push it forward.
Oxenefordscire Roman Artifact 2

- Location: 350m southwest of Cyne Belle Castle.
Move south of the barred door to where a hole is. Drop down inside where a viper and a moveable wall is. Break the pots to the left of the wall so you can slide it over, revealing a passageway. Then, break through a wood doorway and climb up a ladder to where the Roman Artifact is.

- Location: Southwest of Saint Albanes Abbey

Use Odin's Sight to find where the Roman Artifact is hidden underground. This will show a rock floor that you can destroy by dropping the bag above you down onto it. By climbing the southwest tower several feet away, you can shoot the latch holding this bag up. This will drop the bag into the rock floor destroying it and revealing the Roman Artifact.
Oxenefordscire Roman Artifact 4
- Location: North of The Corpse Feeders

There's a locked door here with a key outside visible from Odin's Sight. Head over to the key spot and pick up the rock on top of it to reveal it. The Roman Artifact is right behind the locked door.
Oxenefordscire Roman Artifact 5
- Location: South of Evesham Abbey
There's a destructible rock floor you can blow up using explosive pots or the Incendiary Powder Trap skill. There don't seem to be explosive pots nearby, however. If you need help finding this floor, use Odin's Sight to scan for the Roman Artifact. It's relatively close to it. Afterward, hop down and through the doorway to find the artifact.
